“Then the whole congregation of the sons of Israel assembled themselves at Shiloh, and set up the tent of meeting there; and the land was subdued before them. There remained among the sons of Israel seven tribes who had not divided their inheritance. So Joshua said to the sons of Israel, “How long will you put off entering to take possession of the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you?” Joshua‬ ‭18‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

Shiloh means “place of rest”. The tent of meeting was the place where God met with man. Our “tent”, our dwelling place, where God meets with us is now within us. The land has been subdued before us. In Christ, we have entered the place of rest and there is peace between God and man. The only question is, will we take possession of what God has given us?

Addiction ministry can be a rewarding ministry, however, more times than not, it is a very discouraging ministry. I have often heard one of my mentors who has walked this road before me say to me, “There is no one who will know what this is like, but many who have no idea will attempt to tell you how to do this work”. There is a definite calling towards addiction ministry because without the calling, one would never remain in it. As I looked at our statistics last night, I began to cry. Far too many have not taken possession of all the Lord has for them.

God has given each of us so much. However, just as Israel never took possession of all that the Lord had for them, neither do we. God has given us victory over Satan and sin. He has given us grace to walk out His truths. Why do we struggle to walk in all that He has for us? It is because we simply don’t believe Him. As I watch young ladies make decisions that will ruin their lives, my heart aches for them. I want to shout the question, “How long will you put off entering to take possession of the land which the Lord has given you?” The battle has been won. The land is subdued. All that you need to do is take possession of it.
